Hand-stitched Pojagi Projects

These projects are a nice way to learn traditional pojagi hand-stitching techniques. They don’t require a large commitment of materials or time, but give useful finished products.

Most of my samples are made with linen fabric and perle cotton thread. I choose them because they are easy to find and work with. But feel free to experiment with your own fabric/thread combinations to create your own work of art.

Coaster

pojagi coaster with cup.

This small coaster is a wonderful beginner project. It is small enough to finish but large enough to practice the pojagi patchwork techniques.

Samosa Ornament

patchwork ornament hanging in pine tree.

The Samosa Ornament is named for its shape. It is an easy project that uses only one stitching technique.

It can be hung as an ornament or used as a pattern weight.

The Book Cover can be custom made to fit the size of your notebook. It is also a nice way to use up scraps.

Hand-stitched coasters are useful projects and make great gifts.

Circle Ornament

The Circle ornament is a beautiful project that can be adapted to any other shape that you like.

Flower Bookmark

The Flower Bookmark is another useful project. It uses the traditional rolled fabric bat embellishments as flowers.

This Star Ornament is another three dimensional project. Stitch to match your own colour scheme.
