Green Nine Patch Sampler Quilt
This is a two fabric version of the Nine Patch Sampler Quilt. It is made with light and dark green fabrics, with dark fabric as the background.
For this quilt, I switched it up and used a dark fabric as the background. That changes the whole look of the quilt.

Pattern
This pattern is the Nine Patch Sampler quilt.
Each block is a variation of a traditional nine patch block. They have three squares across and three down.
This is a great quilt pattern for beginners because it introduces new skills gradually. But it’s also fun for experienced quilters who want a quick and easy proejct.
Fabric
I used two green fabric prints. Dark green and light green. Even though they are both green fabric, there is enough difference in value that there is contrast in the quilt and you can see the blocks clearly.
Because the sashing and background of the blocks is made with the same fabric, the light pieces appear to float on the background.
If you have eagle eyes, you probably noticed that even though I claimed it was a two fabric quilt, there is actually a third fabric in the narrow border. I ran out of light green fabric, so I did use a third fabric for the narrow border and repeated that fabric in the binding.
Quilting
Instead of quilting, this quilt is tied with a fluffy polyester batting. The ties are made with dark green yarn.

This makes it very lightweight and squishy. It has been washed and dried many times and is wearing well.
Size
This is the medium sized option of the Nine Patch Sampler Quilt, so there are twelve block in total.

I added three borders – a 2″ dark green, a 1″ light green and a 5″ dark green.
That makes the final dimensions 58″ x 76″.
