Island Batik Placemat challenge
As a 2021 Island Batik Ambassador, I get to participate in monthly challenges. This is my design for the placemat challenge.
The fabric featured in this post was given to me by Island Batik.

I used the Epida Designs pattern – Fill in the Blanks Placemats.
This pattern has six different versions of the placemat. This one is the large option of the feature fabric variation.

It is a simple design, and it showcases the beautiful Island Batik fabric. These fabrics are from a variety of collections. They all work together beautifully.

The fabrics all have the same background and accent fabrics, but I chose four different orange fabrics to be the chains.

The simple quilting with decorative stitches adds a bit of fun without distracting from the fabric.
The curves in the stitches support the straight lines of the piecing.

It is fun to see patterns in different fabric combinations.
Be sure to check out all the other great placemats from the rest of the Island Batik Ambassadors.

Pretty, this is one of my favorite blocks and my go to for a quick finish even before AQ sent the Chimney Sweep die.
Love your placemats!!! Great job!
Love the variety of color in the placemats!
These are pretty! I love the decorative stitch as the quilting–nice touch!
Very pretty project! I like the way the wavy quilting gives the straight piecing dimension. Have a fabulous day.
Very pretty! It’s fun to have slight differences in the colors, but still be a set. And the wavy quilting is great.
