    Poinsettia Applique Pattern and Tutorial

This poinsettia appliqué is a nice way to turn any sewing project into a Christmas project. It can be added to placemats, bags, tea towels, pillows or even clothing. If you use fusible web, it is a quick project that can be done only a few minutes.

Making half-square triangles with the Paper Piecing Method

The thought of paper piecing causes some quilters to break out into a cold sweat.  Trust me, though.  Paper piecing half square triangles is not at all like making complex stars or picture blocks.  It is simple and straightforward.

Making half-square triangles with the Strip Piecing Method

Making half-square triangles with the “Four at a Time” Method

Some quilt designs require a LOT of half-square triangle units.  In that situation, it can be nice to make a bunch at a time.  This method lets you make four at a time. This might seem like a good idea, but it is only useful in certain situations.

Making half-square triangles with the Most Popular Method

This method of making half square triangle units has been around for a long time.  It is very popular, and for good reason.  It is pretty simple and eliminates the waste that occurs when doing one unit at a time.
