Take a Hike Quilt Block
“Take a Hike” is a pattern for a traditional mountain quilt block embellished with hand embroidery.
The theme for June Quilt Block Mania is “Mountains”. This made me think of visiting Colorado and hiking in the mountains there. The scenery was so beautiful and it was a wonderful experience.
Delectable Mountains is a traditional quilt block that obviously fits this theme, so this is a fun variation.
The traditional Delectable Mountains unit is not square, but by making small units that finish at 3″ x 4″, I was still able to make a 12″ block.

This block is made with easy construction. There are no tricky templates, just squares and triangles.
This block is available in my shop.
Be sure to check out all my other embroidered quilt blocks in the 2024 Block of the Month.
