Sewing Friends Quilt Block
The theme for February Quilt Block Mania is “Maker” which is something I can relate to. We use a lot of special tools when we make things and this block is a tribute to them.
In Korea, traditionally a woman’s sewing tools were called her “seven friends”. Today, we use more than seven tools in sewing, but it is still fun to think of them as our friends.
This is an easy basket quilt block with added embroidery of some common quilting tools.
This block uses piecing, applique and embroidery. It can be used in a quilting project by itself, or with my other embroidered quilt blocks.

thank you. I love that about quilting tools being “friends”. they really are. my mom and I learned to quilt together when I was in high school. she stopped after a few years. her interests went elsewhere. but I continued on. it was like a stress relief for me. now at 63 it still is. and i love to give quilted gifts. but mom really enjoyed in finding new tools and giving them to me to encourage my craft.
