dark fabric:

  • sixteen 1-1/2″ squares
  • one 1-1/2″ x 3-1/2″

light fabric:

  • sixteen 1-1/2″ squares
pink and black fabric squares.

Tutorial

See each step in the process, with images to help guide you.

Make the snowball square

Mark a diagonal line on 8 of the light fabric squares.

Place these squares right sides together with dark fabric squares. Stitch directly on the marked line.

Trim away the excess and press to make half-square triangles.

The finished pieces should be 1-1/2โ€.

Block layout

Layout the block with the dark rectangle in the middle.

Join the pieces together into horizontal rows.
