Embroidered Flowers Table Runner
This table runner was a collaboration with my younger daughter, who is an artist of the drawing and painting variety. I asked her from some flower sketches that I could use for embroidery designs. This is one of the ones she came up with.
I scanned the sketch and zoomed it with software to fit the 4″ square fabric pieces and embroidered them simply with back stitch and French knots.

The table runner is the Fill in the Blanks Jr. Table Runner pattern. This pattern was developed to give a smaller version to the Fill in the Blanks pattern. It is great for featuring embroidery or applique in the centre pieces.
There are three different design variations in five different sizes. This is the twisted chain variation in the medium size. It is 12″ x 36″.

The twisted chains are made with bright pink and blue fabrics. I matched the colours and alternated the embroidered flowers in pink and blue.

I finished with free motion quilting. I looped corner to corner in the squares of the chains and meandered in the background.
I like how this turned out. The embroidery is a perfect fit for the pattern.
