This table runner is the perfect way to add some colour and fun to your table. The simple chain pattern means easy construction, but your creativity will make it an extra-special project.
Instructions are included for three different variations in five different sizes, so you’ll never run out of options.
Single Chain Variation
The single chain variation is made with two fabrics – background and chain. It would look great with solid fabrics, patterns or a combination.
This sample is quilted with diagonal lines aligned with the chain squares.
Accent Fabric Variation
The accent fabric variation is nice for featuring a special fabric – great for holiday prints or that beautiful fabric piece you’ve been saving.
This sample is quilted with straight lines across the runner.
Twisted Chain Variation
The twisted chain variation has two colours of chain that twist back and forth on a background fabric.
This sample has flowers embroidered inside the chains. It is quilted with free motion quilting.
The design includes a lot of negative space so you can “fill in the blanks” with your own embroidery, applique or quilting designs.
Five sizes are included in the pattern:
- XS – 12″ x 20″
- S – 12″ x 28″
- M – 12″ x 36″
- L – 12″ x 44″
- XL – 12″ x 52″
If you want a wider table runner, check out the regular Fill in the Blanks Table Runner.
