Can you do embroidery with a sewing machine?

Details

Most of the tutorials that I have at Epida Studio are for hand embroidery. That is for embroidery done without a machine and just with a needle and thread.

But you can also do embroidery on a sewing machine.

There are two different ways to embroider by machine.

Some machines have embroidery modules where fabric can be loaded and then the machine stitches the design from a digital file onto it. It is computerized and the machine works independently.

The other way embroidery can be done on a sewing machine is similar to free motion quilting. For free motion embroidery, you lower the feed dogs and then move your fabric manually under the needle to get the stitch design.

So if youโ€™re not into hand stitching but you would still like to try embroidery, you can always try one of the machine options.
