Red and White Log Cabin Sampler Quilt
I love red and white quilts. I also love sampler quilts, so this is a perfect match.
This quilt is a scrappy version of the Log Cabin Sampler Quilt, which was a quilt-along here at Epida Studio.
You can still access all the tutorials. In fact, this quilt is the sample that was made in the tutorials.
I used a wide variety of red fabrics – everything from burgundy to rose to bright Christmas red. For light red, I used pink.

Each of the blocks are variations of log cabin quilt blocks. They are 9″ square.
This star in the cabin block has an inner sawtooth star that is 4″ square. Each bar around it is 1″ wide.

This cornerstone cabin block has 1″ cornerstones between the bars. The centre square is 3″.

The quilting on this quilt really makes it stand out. It is stitched with a large off-set spiral.

The spiral is focussed on one of the stars.
The lines in the spiral are about 2″ apart. Here’s a tutorial for spiral quilting.
This is one of my favourite quilts. We usually use it for cuddling up on the couch to watch movies or read books.
