This modern window hanging looks like stained glass, but it’s actually patchwork made with batik fabric. It is sewn with the modern pojagi style seam technique.
The pattern for this piece is available in my shop or at Etsy. It includes clear directions for all the techniques involved in making this window hanging with lots of diagrams and pictures.
There is no precision cutting or piecing involved, but a simple “loop and snip” technique is used to make the pieces. It doesn’t require any special rulers or equipment.
The piece uses two different colours of fat quarters. The sample contains blue and yellow, but it would look great in any colour combination.
If you’ve never tried modern pojagi before, this is a great project to learn the technique.
If you like it, you will also like the companion pieces, “Gleam” and “Glow”.
