“Bits and Pieces” Glimmer window hanging
Like most of my followers, I love fabric. So when Sherry from Powered by Quilting put out a call for people to try out her new fabric collection, I jumped at the chance.
“Bits and Pieces” is a beautiful new fabric collection designed by Kathy Engle for Sherry Shish and made by Island Batik fabrics.

It is a fun combination of pinks, greens, purples, and teals.
I chose my pattern “Glimmer” to make a window hanging with this fabric. This pattern is a quick and easy project that showcases batik fabric beautifully.
For this project, I chose three pink fabrics and three greens.

The Glimmer window hanging uses six quarter yards of fabric, and either fat quarters or skinny quarters will work.
Batik fabric is the best option because it is reversible and gives a great glow to the finished product. I have had the privilege to work with Island Batik before, and they are a great product.

Once I got the fabric, I cut the pieces and joined them randomly following the pattern.
The seams for this project are reversible pojagi seams. That is what gives the stained glass effect. There is no black fabric involved.

The finished project is a beautiful window hanging.
On dull, cloudy days, the fabrics look darker and the pinks are almost red.

The bright, vibrant colours look good in any lighting condition.

Hello Elizabeth! I love your window quilt made with Bits and Pieces. I learned something from you today. I had no idea the black lines were created by the seams! Very cool. Have a great day!
Such a pretty window treatment. Pojagi is fascinating! I may need to give that a try.
Beautiful! I just love the greens in that collection.
Simply love this! What a gorgeous window hanging. I might have to give pojagi a try.
Wow that is so dramatic!,,,
