Ideas
These samples use a picture from my pattern Easy Embroidered Birds, but you can apply the same ideas to any simple picture.
1. Just back stitch
Almost any picture can be embroidered with just back stitch.

Use different coloured threads for a simple but beautiful piece.
2. Elaborate embroidery
Simple pictures can be as complex as you want.

This bird is stitched with back stitch, wrapped back stitch, running stitch and herringbone stitch.

3. Applique
Most simple pictures can be used for applique designs.

The sample was done with needle turn applique, but you can use any applique method that you prefer.
4. Applique with embellishment
Applique and embroider can be used together for lots of fun effects.

This bird has feather stitch, back stitch and satin stitch.
5. Embroidery with other media
To add more colour and detail, you can use other media like crayon or paint.

This bird has stitching filled in with wax crayon.
Use these ideas as inspiration for your own unique creations.
