Adding accents to pojagi window hangings
Appiquing accents are a fun way to add shapes to a pojagi window hanging. See how easy it is to do with paper-backed fusible web.
If you have a pojagi window hanging, it might be fun to add shapes to it. This pumpkin window hanging becomes a friendly jack oโ lantern when you add eyes and a mouth.

WARNING: Remember that in pojagi window hangings, it is the layers of fabric that give it the stained glass look. Since these shapes will result in many layers of fabric, the shapes will look black or very dark in a window, no matter what colour fabric you use for the shapes.

Tutorial
Here are the steps for doing the appliquรฉ.
Trace the shapes onto paper-backed fusible web
If you have a pattern, you can trace the shapes, otherwise you can draw your own.
You will need to have two of each shape – one for the front and one for the back. These shapes need to be mirror images of each other so that they will line up.
After tracing the shapes, roughly cut them out, but donโt cut exactly on the lines.
Fuse the web to the wrong side of the fabric
Following the manufacturerโs instructions, fuse the web onto the wrong side of the fabric with an iron.
Once the web is attached, cut on the lines so you are cutting the web and fabric at the same time.
Fuse to the window hanging
Fuse one set of pieces to one side of the window hanging.

To align the second side, use a light box or hang the piece in a window.

The light will help you line up the shapes .

Stitch to secure
Stitch around the edges of the shapes with either straight stitch or narrow zig zag.
Enjoy your window hanging!
