5 Flowers embroidered with lazy daisy stitch
As the name suggests, lazy daisy stitch (aka detached chain stitch) is perfect for embroidering little flowers.
These five flower variations are all different, but they are all made with only lazy daisy stitch.
1. Basic lazy daisy stitch

The basic flower involves lazy daisy stitches rotated around a centre circle.
See a detailed lazy daisy stitch tutorial here.

The look of the basic flower can be changed by making the petals long and thin instead of round.

You can also use multiple rounds of stitches to make a larger flower.
2. Reverse stitches

In this variation, the stitches are turned the other way. The pointy part is towards the outside of the flower.
3. Long stem

These lazy daisy stitches have long tacking stitches.
4. Nested petals

Nesting the lazy daisy stitches can give a lot of different effects.
You can use multiple colours or shades of a single colour.
5. Side view

Stitching only a few petals makes the side view of a flower.
Enjoy stitching a whole garden with all these stitch varations.
