This week, I was almost able to cross this ancient UFO off my list. The blocks have been hanging around for years (since back when stack and whack was the quilting trend). I still love the look of the kaleidoscope – type design. I did some simple straight line quilting and finished everything except the binding, so it should be done soon. I just have to figure out what colour to use for the binding.
I started knitting a pair of socks. This will be a good size as a take-along project. I am also sold on the magic loop method. I tried before with an old circular needle that I inherited from my grandmother. The needles had elbows in them when they joined to the cord, so that made it very difficult. I got a new pair that are straight, and it makes all the difference. After I have done one pair, I’m all ready to do two-at-a-time magic loop. I don’t think it will be too much harder, and it will keep the socks matching.
Red and white log cabin sampler quilt is finished! I debated how to quilt it, but ended up going with a large spiral. I love the look of it! I started the spiral around one of the stars, so it’s not in the exact centre, but I think it turned out really well. You can follow along and make your own if you want.
That’s all for now, but there’s lots coming up, so stay tuned!
Have a great week!
