I’m busy back in the studio with lots of personal projects on the go. I’m working on a set of placemats and a table runner.
My daughter got me a gift certificate for a local fabric store for my birthday, and when I was in there I noticed these old kits. They have been there in clearance for a while, but I never looked at them closely. They include fabric for four placemats and a runner and they were marked down to $7 each. I picked up two, since I need more than four placemats. They are made out of heavy upholstery or drapery fabric, so they should wear well. They have no batting, it’s just the two layers of fabric. The instructions said to use interfacing, but I didn’t even do that.
I also started a small afghan. I wanted a project to work on while watching tv and I’ve had this yarn around for a while, so I’m using it up. The pattern is “Simple Granny Stripe Afghan” from kristineinbetween.com. It is a great pattern, and goes pretty quickly. It would be easy to enlarge.
Have a great week!
