Star in the log cabin gives some interesting looks to traditional log cabin quilt layouts. Hopefully these optional star in the log cabin layouts inspire you and get your creative juices flowing.
Stars are aligned
Sometimes just a straight layout with nothing fancy can be nice.
Falling Stars
Rotating every other block gives an entire new look.
Rising with the Stars
Stars add a special touch to the traditional barn raising layout.
Tic Tac Toe Stars
I know there are no x’s and o’s, but the three by three layout gave me the feeling of a tic tac toe board. The stars aren’t the main feature in this layout, but they add an extra element of interest.
Star Clusters
Small groups of stars add excitement to a plain layout.
Four Corners
A single set of stars can be a focal point in a larger quilt. This option has a lot of negative space to show off the quilting.
This is just a tiny sample of options available. Remember, colour changes everything as well. Start playing with your own blocks and see what you come up with!
